Assertive Wording for Work Messages

I’ve read that when following up on something you should avoid saying “just” because it sounds apologetic or minor instead of confident and important. I used to use it all the time because I didn’t want to seem annoying lol. Now I say something like.. good morning, I’m following up on the status of ____. 🥰🍋
